Taapsee Pannu's first collaboration with Anubhav Sinha won critical acclaim and we hope their second venture works wonders too.
After creating magic on screen with her acting skills in Mulk with Rishi Kapoor and others, Taapsee Pannu reunites with filmmaker Anubhav Sinha for yet another film. The film went on floors yesterday. "It’s time again...This one is something that was brewing in all our hearts for years... ❤️❤️❤️ Using the power cinema has given us to voice what needs to be addressed ??♀️," the actress captioned her picture with the filmmaker and team of Thappad. A day after the Anubhav Sinha directorial began, the filmmaker himself announced the release date of Thappad on his social media handle.
He took to his Twitter account and tweeted, "Eleven is an auspicious number and this is my eleventh film and probably the toughest so far. Keep us blessed. This one is dedicated to the women of India. See you Mar 6, 2020. @itsBhushanKumar."

Thappad is being touted as a women-oriented film where Taapsee plays a middle-class girl. If a Mumbai Mirror report is anything to go with, Anubhav decided to cast Taapsee Pannu in Thappad while they were shooting for Mulk. "Anubhav had decided on casting her while they were still shooting Mulk. It’s a women-oriented subject that defies narratives typecasting women. It questions the society and will deliver a poignant message on world domination by women," a source had informed the leading daily.
